They need to start a new category for “Best Trailer.”
I hope a trailer will be attached to prints of The Descendants.
I was impressed by “Hunger” and so the attraction for me is McQueen’s direction. Will give this one a look-see.
Mulligan has such a beautiful voice. Fingers crossed she gets a supporting actress nom and a lead actor nom for Fassbender. Just can’t wait to see this work of art. I have high expectations especially because McQueen’s previous feature Hunger blew me away. Hopefully Shame surpasses it…even if it doesn’t, I’m sure it’ll be an exciting experience.
What a beautiful trailer. The music is set to ‘tone down’ that wicked NC17 rating to make it more appealing to those who may be scared to watch this film. I’m very pleased with how Fox Searchlight is marking Shame and I think a lot of people will be surprised when nomination time comes around and see Shame get some well deserved love.
It’s time to put Steve McQueen in serious contention for the lone best director spot.
Shame
easily could get three nominations
MICHAEL FASSBENDER/BEST ACTOR
CAREY MULLIGAN/BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
and ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
“slowly”
Shame has the classiest trailers of the year, by far. The poster art isn’t far behind, either. Two weeks to go. Hopefully, we’ll get some late night talk show visits from Fassbender soon.
The marketing campaign has been outstanding. If the fyc people are half as good is this at least three noms are as good as gold.
Work of art. Even the two trailers.
This film can’t come soon enough. Unfortunately it won’t either.
Love how the trailer hints at just what the MPAA card threatens is – *** !!! NC-17 – WARNING! WARNING! SOME EXPLICIT SEXUAL CONTENT! BEWARE! ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE! !!! *** –
Though I liked seeing the movie unprepared for Mulligan’s smoldering workout of New York, New York, this is a perfect trailer.
It captures the mood and the tone of the film without giving anything away. That opening subway scene!!
This is great, but I think that I prefer the original trailer. It was more intense.
off topic (or not):
Woody Woodpecker

The marketing choices for this movie both in the US and the UK have been outstanding. It’s so artful and tasteful that one would be prone to think that McQueen’s final cut option extended to the trailers and posters!
