Hello all, here is a transcript of the trailer, from Aurélien who posted it on Rope of SIlicon. I was about to do the same here 🙂 I’ve added a few things. Thanks Aurélien
Boy : It wasn’t good ?
Adèle : Yes it was ! It was really good
Girl : Come on, give us some details !
Adèle : There aren’t
Girl : What do you mean there aren’t, I don’t understand. What did you guys do ?
Adèle : We spent the afternoon together, that’s all
Girl : It’s because it was lame you don’t want to tell us anything ?
Adèle : You’re like the sex police !
(Palme d’Or – Festival de Cannes 2013)
Adèle : I feel like I pretend all the time… There’s something missing…
(Title : La vie d’Adèle – chapitres 1 & 2 (Adèle’s life – chapters 1 & 2))
Professor : Childhood – and I hope you’re nearly at the end of it – is the age where you’re not mature enough, not strong enough
Emma : Are you embarrassed ?
Adèle : Yeah, a little
Emma : You’re funny
Girl : Who’s the girl who went to pick you up the other day ? The one with the blue hair
Girl : I don’t care if you’re a d***. The thing is you went to sleep over many times, naked in my bed. And that’s harder to bear with !
Adèle : I’m not a lesbian, how do I have to tell you ? Are you stupid ?
Emma : We’re good there, right ?
(Name of the actresses)
Adèle’s mother : We’re delighted to meet you Emma. And it’s very nice of you to help Adèle with her philosophy lessons
Emma : Thanks !
Emma : Do you like your philosophy lessons ?
Adèle : I love them !
Adèle : What’s wrong ?
Emma : You said you were ashamed to be with a girl
Adèle : I wasn’t ashamed… It’s just…
Emma : For how long do you take me for a fool ?
Adèle : I never took you for a fool, and I never will
Emma : Get out of here ! Get out of my life !
Emma : Why are you lying ?
Adèle : I’m not
Emma : So why are you crying ?
Adèle : I’m not
I think Adele’s last name is pronounced Ez-zarch-oh-poo-lowes. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
You’re right
oh that’s great ! Thanks a lot

Thanks! I’ll move this up into the post so it will be easier to find, here and there both.
The performances look outstanding.
Make no mistake, Blue is a landmark film. The performances are nothing short of luminous and incendiary. The emotional intimacy and sincerity is at times uncomfortable and overwhelming; I felt as though I were intruding on something that should be very private. But such is the power of the performances that the love scenes, although they are explicit, don’t feel exploitative.
I saw it at Cannes and speaking with a few festival veterans afterwards, they said it was the most astonishing screening they had been at since… Pulp Fiction when it premiered in Cannes in ’94. I wasn’t there then so I can’t vouch for that, but I can say that at the at the end of the Blue screening, almost everyone was wrought with emotion.
As for the Oscars what just might happen is someone, a Hollywood star, champions the film just as Clooney did for Cotillard with La Vie en Rose and Julia Roberts did for Bardem with Biutiful.
It does help the movie’s cause that the committee for Cannes included Spielberg, Lee, Kidman, and Waltz, surely. Especially when neither Lee or Spielberg are competing this year.
Great point! Hopefully they will throw their weight behind it.
I agree, too. That is very good point.
Blue is a landmark film
Dang! And I won’t be able to see it until the home video release (just a hard working ‘merican trying to make an honest living here). Unless I resort to illegitimacy…
I just can’t help but anticipate me bursting out laughing during the prolonged and graphic teenage lesbian sex scenes.
Pope, are you a film critic/scholar or just a cinephile with means?
Bryce,
Modestly, I could be classified in the first two categories.
I dream of the third.
Jeff Wells says Adele Whatever-her-name-is is a lock for Best Actress? Is he serious or just hopping to get in bed with her?
At least he’d be able to say her name if he did.
Serious but not realistic
What’s the point of being hot and a lesbian? With all those hot straight guys out there that would hook-up with you
What’s the point of being hot and gay? With all those hot straight girls out there that would hook-up with you?
How can it be an international trailer when there are no english subtitles?
Oh yeh, cos eeeverybody internationally speaks English.
Approximately 74 million people worldwide speak French as their first language. And there’s a fair few of us who can understand a good bit too. And then there’s those of us who can appreciate what’s going on in this trailer without relying on dialogue.
I didn´t intend to sound ignorant. That was a sincere question. Maybe I´m a bit shallow but I thought English is used as a global language. All the trailers coming from Cannes had English subtitles so in my very own opinion I thought the term “international trailer” would require subtitles of some sort. And it´s very nice that 74 million people speak french but what about the rest? When a trailer from the movie “Die Fremde” was posted here I was so nice to add the subtitles in the comments because I thought i would be great for everybody to know what´s going on. So Paddy thanks for your input.
Hear, hear.
I was JUST thinking about how much I wanted to see a trailer come out about ten minutes ago…looks lovely.
real lesbian scenes from this movie

Why thank you.
