I just can’t, for the life of me, manage to predict these. ¬†For one thing, I didn’t see everything, but for another thing – it’s such a toss-up. ¬†There is no way to predict it. ¬†Guy, over at InContention, does a good job laying out why it’s so hard to predict and then offers these up (but his write-up is also worth a read). ¬†His predictions look solid to me, though. ¬†This Best Actress choice would be well-deserved but don’t we all think Binoche will take it? ¬†Guy’s should-win picks are hilarious. ¬†Gee, like Certified Copy much? ¬†As I said, I don’t feel qualified to even say a “should win,” not having seen all of the films. ¬†Of those I’ve seen in competition, I would say that Another Year was the best of the lot. ¬†Poetry would come in second, Biutiful third. ¬†The Housemaid fourth.
