Looks charming, funny and possibly honest.
Still I’m hoping he wins her at a dance competition in the 3rd act. I’m that petty.
All an actress needs to do to win an Oscar these days is smush her pussy into her costar’s face while perched on his shoulder in front of a crowd.
I imagine a good 50% of Academy members got memory boners at that bit, recalling their many wet dreams…
Well this gets the bad taste of Silver Linings out of my mouth.
There’s still good writing after all.
What a bore! A waste of precious time at the Berlin Film Fest and definitely not award-worthy. Just a vanity project for J.G-L, who was at least smart enough to let Julianne Moore make the best of the third act.
But your not giant amounts of bitter or anything right?
Sure, Berlin? Have you seen their line-ups? The festival itself is a wasteland. Even if I had all the time, access, and money in the world, would I attend a festival that for every BARBARA or A SPERATION screens at least 4x more forgettable garbage (e.g. FAREWELL MY QUEEN, CLORIOLANUS, CEASAR MUST DIE -admittedly could only get through 40 min-, THE TURIN HORSE, A ROYAL AFFAIR, etc, etc, etc)? Maybe shoot myself in the foot first.
This, on the other hand looks, like another all-around triumph in the career of Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Read a book
Am sure, cause I’ve seen it. BUT what exactly looks like a triumph to you? I was attending because I admired his career choices, I found the story of an porn-addict interesting and I like most of the actors. In the end it was a C+, and obviously no one around me liked the movie.
By the way, the Berlin Fest delivered BEFORE MIDNIGHT and FRANCES HA and PRINCE AVALANCHE, so better shoot your foot.
I envy you for having seen it already. If you mean the festival delivered them to their audience, you’re right, but they’re still Sundance premieres. I can’t actually cite every good movie that plays in Berlin, just like I can’t cite every bad one. Maybe the rubbish:memorable ratio isn’t as terrible as I stated, but looking at the last few line-ups I don’t see myself driving there anytime soon. You’re a Berliner right? I’m all about hometown spirit, and mine is nothing compared to yours. Additionally, the fact that you’ve been impressed by this boy’s career so far gives you a lot of cred –you’re not some hater trolling. And maybe it’s a matter of different taste because this clip and the trailer have me hooked waiting for this movie. Looks great to me. Anyways, cheers.
p.s. I can think of 1000 better reasons to visit Germany like the upcoming Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich, but still that won’t take place in Berlin :p
p.p.s. Not a fan of FRANCES HA so that might explain our disconnect…
