(thanks, guany!) UK quad poster after the cut.
Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

I have to correct you, AFK, Streep don’t appear in any “cowardice” scene, but a “cowardiiiiisssss”-scene…;)

@ Diego…
TOTALLY forgot about that. But I think I tried to forget most of The Reader 🙂

This is rather amusing. Looks like lots of people are doing to Streep what they tried to do too Di Caprio. Ya know I’d give my eye teeth too have just half of Streeps’ talent and her reputation. It seems there is always that need to topple the great in our society whether they should be toppled or not. Fascinating there is such a lack of objectivity when it comes to those who truly work their asses off to get where they are.

@ Aaron –
Kate as a pedophile?
Did you forget about “The Reader?”
David Kross’ character Michael Berg was 15 years old when Hanna Schmitz slept with him.

I think that Streep is going to be very entertaining in this. But I still don’t know why a Brit couldn’t play the part.

From the trailer, this looks more like Oliver Stone’s “Nixon” – another whitewash movie about a right-wing political animal.
Streep a nomination? Probably. But a win? Nada.
Jim Broadbent looks interesting as the husband, I must say.

@ Diego…I don’t know exactly what you are trying to say about Tilda Swinton, Michelle Williams, or Maggie Smith, but I don’t like it. When those three talented women are at their best, magic happens on screen. Meryl Streep is undeniably brilliant, but her worse is not better than their best. That’s just retarded and ill-informed.
And did you see Charlize Theron in Monster? One of the best performances ever captured on film, in my opinion. And Vanessa Redgrave? I am not going to even dignify an answer to one of the greatest actresses ever.
And are you saying Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie are superior to all of them? Both of them are very talented….but no….just no.
And when did Kate Winslet play a pedophile? I don’t recall, although Little Children did have a pedophile, but it was certainly not her. (It was Jackie Earle Haley in an Oscar-nominated performance).

“Cowardice…cowardice.”
The close-up was made for Meryl Streep. Too bad this trailer doesn’t use it more.
And with all the Michelle Williams references being tossed around, would it be fair to assume that The Weinstein Compmany may simply have wanted to create some distance between their Best Actress hopefuls at the box office?
