MONUMENTS MEN trailer
I think Nicole Holofcener’s terrific, and this trailer is too. Now if only we can get people to quit mouthing off on the Monuments Men trailer page and start watching this far superior trailer for a (probably) far superior film.
I love Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ performances in Seinfeld.
Louis-Dreyfus, the late Gandolfini, Keener, to name a few, onboard, they more or less represent a good cast. The trailer looks good too. Hoping I’ll get to see it (here) — somehow….
PS: Julia Louis-Dreyfus literally stood out in every freaky scene and each shot she was in. And I love every sec of it.
You live in Japan, right? Can you read Japanese text?
You just can´t have enough movies like that. Very lovely.
I enjoyed this trailer thoroughly. Usually this kind of film is in the guilty pleasure department for me, but I found Dreyfus wholly convincing here.
I absolutely love Nicole Holefcener as a filmmaker. She makes these beautifully understated films that are unlike almost everything else out there. I seem to like everyone of her films more than the last. And Julia-Louis Dreyfus can do no wrong in my eyes.
Very charming. However, I have to confess that I felt sad at the same time, for obvious reasons.
I’m currently living in another country in [...] Asia. Anyway, by all means I can read Japanese text.
Why wasn’t Louis-Dreyfus a movie star earlier?
Why wasn’t James Gandolfini a movie star earlier?
We should probably wait to see how the movie goes before crowning here a movie star???
Could you maybe do some translation for me? Japanese to English?
RIP James Gandolfini. Still sad.
I wouldn’t count out a lobbying for a post-humous nom for James Gandolfini. He came close to a nom for “The Mexican”, and it’s a bit weird he has left us without having been an Oscar nominated performer. It’s not that he didn’t have the talent, for sure, but probably the movies and some of the roles were not the appropiate for Oscar consideration, yet. For example: “Get Shorty”, too short (no pun intended), “In the Loop”, eclipsed by Peter Capaldi… and so on…
Apologies for my late reply.
(Sasha’s The Butler review is sort of making me dizzy. Good things galore to read and digest, to begin with. [lol])
Well, I need to see the material first. Perhaps, if you’d like, you could leave the original Japanese text on your website so that I could simply copy and paste it on my notepad and work on it and return to you accordingly. : )
(For the record: at any rate, I regret that I am unable to be reached via e-mail.)
oh no, I sent you an email earlier tonight. Nothing important, but sorry to hear if you’re having laptop trouble.
[Ryan] “oh no, I sent you an email earlier tonight. Nothing important, but sorry to hear if you’re having laptop trouble.”
Ryan, in fact I’m not having laptop trouble; I tend to operate on strategically primitive mode for fear of virus, spyware and the likes. So, if I don’t know the recipients or even though I do if there’s no valid reason e.g. business et al, matter-of-factly speaking I’ll simply ignore them.
By the way, as you probably know, the only valid e-mail address, from now on, is the other one I’ve used to collect my prize. : )
Will do. Would it suit for me to screenprint the page I need translated, then upload it as an image onto my blog?
Here’s a direct link to the first page I’ll need translated. It’ll be a series of membership registration pages, then payment details etc as I’m ordering goods from Japan. Hope you can be of assistance!
Re your message on Aug. 11, 2013 7:00AM & 7:01AM, I am in the middle of something but I should be able to get back with the translation sooner or later.
A fleeting glance […], basically they require you to enter your e-mail address so that link(s) be provided […] for further steps. So, if I were you, I would simply enter my […] address and press the transmission (“send”) button below.
One thing I don’t understand: how could you get to this page without having any other linguistic problems in the previous ones (I am quite sure you needed to go through a few more pages, all written in Japanese, to get to this very page….)
My browser translates the other pages automatically as a custom setting for the website. But once you go past their main pages, the setting doesn’t work.
