And the nominees are:

The PGA traditionally does not line up with Oscar. Last year only two went on to be nommed for Oscar:
Last year’s nominees and winner:
Winner (also Oscar winner): Searching for Sugar Man (2012)
Other Nominees:
A People Uncounted (2011)
The Gatekeepers (2012)
The Island President (2011)
The Other Dream Team (2012)
Was The Act of Killing ineligible? I cannot believe anyone would overlook that film. The film is better than 90% of the Best Picture contenders I’ve seen.
This is a very strange list. I haven’t even heard of Far Out Isn’t Far Enough. Very disappointed to note that The Act of Killing wasn’t nominated, and I sure hope The Missing Picture wasn’t eligible. But this is the PGA, after all, and they’re a bunch of morons anyway.
Bummed to see my favorites – Stories We Tell, Dirty Wars, After Filler, Blackfish – left out. Only seen We Steal Secrets of the nominees, which was great.
