WOW. I must say. Just WOW. Xcited.
And Idris Elba. YUM.
Dare I say this is now tied with Dark Knight Rises as my two MUST sees on opening day? This looks incredible. On a sidenote…can anyone please explain to me if this is a prequel to Alien? I don’t think it is, but any insight as to how they could be tied (like how the ship is the same in this as the find in the beginning of Alien, etc) would be appreciated. I’m slow on the uptake.
Some scenes reminds Alien Vs. Predator (2004)
Best trailer so far. Charlize Theron should have been the lead she is riveting.
Josh, yes this is a prequel to Alien. You can see the Space Jockey and alien ship that were both featured in the first film. They also work for the same company that was in the others.
This is the best trailer yet for the movie. I can’t wait to see it. I hope the MPAA gives it an R. In Spain they gave it an R already.
This movie has pulled into a dead heat with Dark Knight Rises for my most anticipated film of the year
please ridley scott should make us live that moment again when we all saw alien first time. this looks good and i think it’ll be good to see noomi rapace in lead. love when it says director of alien, blade runner, gladiator. this director so deserves an oscar.
When Noomi Rapace’s character said “It’s an invitation” and then the other guy asked “From who?” the screen flashed “From RIDLEY SCOTT”. I bet that was intentional, either way it made me laugh.
Great trailer, cannot wait for this movie. This summer is turning out to be pretty exciting:
May 4: The Avengers
May 25: Moonrise Kingdom
June 8: Prometheus
June 22: Brave
June 22: To Rome With Love
July 20: The Dark Knight Rises
August 31: Lawless
Wait – another trailer?
This marketing campaign has jumped the shark! Well, jumped the space jockey!
Any chance Fassbender is a synthetic like Ash or Bishop? Caught my attention during the trailer he looks very proper/stiff when they are all sitting there getting told what the mission is. Gotta be a synthetic on board right?! Hah
I’m not watching any of the Prometheus trailers. I’ve only seen the teaser trailer. I don’t want to know the entire plot before I get to see the movie. I think Prometheus is one of those movies where you should know as little as possible before watching the movie.
^Then definitely keep away from this one. This is very revealing.
Dan, if Spain has a high rating already up there, then I believe it will be R. Finnish rating was not up yet (just checked), but the thing is that in bigger films we usually get the same version as Americans. Very rarely Europeans get a stronger version (and even then it’s usually when it’s about sex).
From recent years, a few films that come to mind.
-Basic Instinct (international version more violent and with more sex / different angles in some shots)
-Eyes Wide Shut (US version terribly censored with digital effects – reason: sex)
-Kill Bill Vol. 1 (only JAPANESE version is harder, actually – reason: violence)
-Requiem for a Dream (international cut runs longer – reason: sex)
Same trailer until the quick flashes at the end:
It has new more visceral/graphic footage. The alien birth scene is going to be uncomfortable viewing for a female audience. It looks almost too intense.
Tero, “recent years”? Really?
Basic Instinct, 1992
Eyes Wide Shut, 1999
Kill Bill Vol. 1, 2003
Requiem for a Dream, 2000
To me, anything since early 90′s is recent years. I compared this to the whole history of film.
For example, I’m just about ready to call The Silence of the Lambs a classic. Enough time has passed. Maybe 20 years is the limit for me until anything can be considered a classic.
Years go by so fast, you know. Gladiator was made just yesterday, and it’s – in fact – over a decade old.
