Before everyone jumps on the Cate train, and she is terrific, go see Pearl.

Yes!!! I’m all for Cate sweeping everything but Mia deserves her flowers and then some. An instantly iconic turn both here and in X. If it was about the performance, her nomination should have been a lock.
See Pearl.
Man can’t fair until I watch it. Probably next week.
I would love to see Cate win a third, as everyone knows that it is written in the stars….but this isn’t a sure fire win, this will not be everyone’s cup of tea. There is fierce competition…can Cate overcome Williams narrative? Or the political importance in Deadwyler’s film?
We can’t name anyone a winner based off of a trailer…..least we forget how good that turned out in years past…..
*****cue Chase and the Gifs****
Williams please switch back to supporting….that is all.
I think they’re looking at the big picture. I think they believe that it will boost The Fabelmans if she’s lead. The campaign for that film is already highly controlled and I don’t believe changing her category was random decision. Everything about The Fabelmans is calculated in order to maximise its potential win in BP and a third BD for Spielberg.
Pls a nomination for Nina Hoss!!
I strongly concur. Can’t wait for release & film’s (hopefully) triumph during awards season.
Man, what a trailer. And I know the competition is so fierce this year in the Best Actress category and everything but Jesus Christ, Cate’s acting is from another universe. The actors who are able to act LIKE THAT are few and far between in the history of cinema.
If Academy voters deny her an already LONG OVERDUE third Oscar for a performance of clearly such unparalleled artistry they’re about to lose all credibility. One doesn’t have to see the films in contention this year to see no ones comes close to this. And I say it without even having seen Tar yet. It’s clear as a day she delivers another masterclass for the ages.
I love this trailer. That last shot in particular is next level. Easily my most anticipated film of the year.
Spot on. That last shot is pure genius on every level. Field and Blanchett seem both on fire in this. Can’t wait.
The two films I’m most looking forward to are both Focus Features Tar and Armageddon Time ! Spielberg’s mom and The Naavi shoud get on a jet plane with Maverick while listening to Elvis and fly to Florida !
And Brenen Fraser should also be on that plane with a couple of foot longs from Subway !
Lol
Cate the Great.
YES!!!! They should give her every award there is for this already. She’s in a league of her own and then some.
This trailer and the teaser intrigue whilst telling you very little other than Cate Blanchett is here doing her thing.
I don’t want to see The trailer for this film because I’m so pumped up for it and I don’t want anything to spoil it. I’m fine with the teaser alone. Can’t wait.
