Javier Bardem looks like Mickey Rourke.
Ridley Scott is a fine film maker and I have enjoyed all of his films. The critics were not fond of Body of Lies, G.I.Jane or Robin Hood, but Scott tells a good story and I appreciate his vision.
Marion Cotillar- The Immigrant
Ugh speaking of lazy and incoherent — sorry for the typos in that post! Commenting via phone is harder than it looks apparently.
This looks excellent. I’ll always have faith in Scott and this is an ace cast. Also — how is Pitt’s career baffling? I’m actually not a fan at all but the man has impeccable taste as of late.
Even Dominik’s last probably seemed like a knockout on paper.
Diaz does seem like the standout here even with nothing to go on. To me, she’s one of those actresses who most of the time is mediocre, but when she finds a good role to sink her teeth into (Vanilla Sky, Being John Malkovich, In Her Shoes) she ignites the screen. There’s a reason the woman is a Star — however, What to Expect When Expecting is not that reason. Glad she fought for this part… Angelina would have seemed a little been there, done that.
However, I cannot defend Prometheus. Lazy, incoherent, pointless. Just my opinion. But when you’ve had a career like Scott’s I await more as an outlier. And the fault was def. more with the script than the acting and direction. Side note — I would love to see Charlize and Fassbender together again!
One day dammit, a movie trailer is going to have:
Academy Award nominee/winner
Michael Fassbender
Yes, one day. Until then, I’m very anxious about The Counselor. And I don’t think we’re going to see naked Fassbender.
Please Fassy! Be naked in this one!
I have no idea what this movie is about….is that what we’re supposed to think? Because it doesn’t convince me that it’s a good movie….and I’m a bit over Brad Pitt right now.
i wouldn’t say Robin Hood was good but yes Prometheus was very underrated. People expected it to be something else, maybe action thriller whereas it was something different and i liked it for being that way.
wow Cameron Diaz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I trust in you Ridley! I still havent watched a Ridley Scott film that i havent liked. His take on Robin Hood is brilliant and epic, and deserved to win Best Picture. And I love Prometheus, its one if the greatest sci-fi films of all time.
Gosh, you’re cheery! Robin Hood is one of my least favourite films!
not to mention Prometheus…
I share your love for PROMETHEUS, a master class in both practical and computer generated visual effects and how to effectively use them. Don’t forget the astonishing production design. Should have won those two Academy Awards, if I remember correctly the nominated films. Snubbed in the Best Cinematography category as well though I wouldn’t have given it the win which belonged to THE MASTER.
Thank you Bryce. Prometheus has it all. I think Noomi Rapace deserved a Best Actress nomination also. It should have been nominated in every technical category, and should have been nominated for Best Picture, best director. But my favorite films never get the nominations I want them to. I feel like the Academy is against me haha.@Paddy Not cheery, I just have a strong passion for movies.
Bball, I cordially invite you to a triple bill of Body of Lies, GI Jane and White Squall.
Brad Pitt’s career is baffling me right now
Care to elaborate?
+1, Bryce.
This trailer looks fine to me.
Cameron Diaz looks yummy in this. It looks like she has some meat to play with and it seems, granted this is based on about 5 seconds of screen time, like she truly delves into it. That’s about it for me. Also, Brad Pitt’s career is baffling me right now.
