Am reading “The Holy and the Broken” about the strange history of Hallelujah. Lots on Buckley and Buckley (and Leonard the Magnificent). Recommended read.
Had not heard of Jeff until the song was used at the end of “The Edukators”. We left the theater and went straight to the music store where they had a copy of his Grace.
finally AD showed some attn to this movie yay!
Both Buckleys are faves of mine, but I’m not too excited about this Jeff movie. I’m more excited about the other one.
Essential Tim Buckley album for me is “Happy Sad”, although “Blue Afternoon” is pretty great as well (if you can find it).
After you’ve pored over “Grace”, another great Jeff record is the deluxe edition of “Live At Sin-e”. Great stuff.
such a wonderful lyric in last goodbye “kiss me out of desire not consolation” – the imagery is heartbreaking.
Looking forward to this but the music was obviously absent which left me wondering if they got the rights or not. You would think both movies would not get them.
As for Tim Buckley, too often his music is overlooked. The following link is my favorite song of his.
