Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

I love this, except that I do think there is an element of sexism from women and men alike (it maybe a straight/queer issue too) in that any kind of reversed gender readings by men are considered a joke. Like there’s only been ‘Valley of the Dolls’ readings or things of a camp nature done, never something more “legitimate”. I had this conversation with a theatre professor of mine; when a woman says she wants to play Hamlet she’s respected, but if I said I wanted to play Lady Macbeth I would be laughed out of the room… There are tons of women’s roles in films that I find absolutely spectacular! Olivia DeHavilland says that George Cukor gave the most passionate reading of Scarlett O’Hara that anyone has ever seen during her Melanie audition and that David O’Selznick took it incredibly seriously. I don’t know, I just wish both genders were more open to interpretations of characters because there are incredible ones have been written for both…
well said Ms. Wilde
What a sad morning.
Here is MONA LISA for which Hoskins won Best Actor at Cannes. It is legit free by the distributor on YouTube

Drinking Buddies really have me a different perspective of her acting abilities.
Bob Hoskins passed away today
Bob Hoskins passed away 🙁
THE SELFISH GIANT is now on Neflix instant. Find out why is ranked so damn high on my Essentials of 2013!
Gotta love Olivia Wilde. She was really good in “Her”.
@Katie
It’s not a surprise if you take a look at her background. Her parents as well as her other relatives are serious investigative journalists (and her sister is a civil rights lawyer). She was mentioned in Salman Rushdie’s last book, Joseph Anton as a “very smart 9 year old girl”. She is good friends with Salman and Nick Kristoff from the New York Times. Also the late Christopher Hitchens was her babysitter (and friend of hers) as well. Lately also writing articles for Vogue, Glamour, Politico and Buzzfeed, So she is not just another pretty face.
And (in my opinion) she is quite good actress as well.
I admit I was shocked and impressed to discover just how intelligent, eloquent and insightful Olivia Wilde is. I probably deserve a slap on the hand for assuming otherwise.
Very well said! It’s so hard to talk about this stuff and get the point across, without just repeating the same old adages. She does such a good job of getting around that.
I’ll look for it. Thanks!!!!
@ Rob Y
She did exactly that last year in Drinking Buddies and she was briliant in it in my opinion. But in the other hand she is doing movies and TV shows since 2003 yet this was the first time, when she was the leading character of the film. Kind of a sad/telling story on it’s own…
I watched this clip easily 5 times. Extremely brilliant woman. Spot on. Now she could easily carry a film on her own.
Right here is the perfect web site for everyone who wants to find out about this topic.
You realize a whole lot its almost hard to argue
with you (not that I actually would want to…HaHa). You certainly put a fresh spin on a subject that’s been written about for decades.
Excellent stuff, just excellent!
One of the smartest and talented women in Hollywood! You go sister!!
