Good episode. What Jeff Schneider said about “The Hobbit” not being completely finished, and at the very least not color corrected is absolutely correct. I’m not sure why Wells is refusing to acknowledge this, but Phil even stated this when they were talking about what they saw at Cinemacon.
I do agree however that what they are doing seems very cowardly. Even if they show it at select locations, we saw what one very limited screening managed to do with word of mouth, so it seems pointless. Might as well let everyone who can see it see it and decide for themselves. I will drive a couple hours if I have to in order to see it as Peter Jackson intended, and I’m quite annoyed by the backpedaling.
