We’re talking everything from classics like A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and The Simpsons (natch) to more recent gems like Gilmore Girls and Will & Grace. And, of course, what would a Thanksgiving special be without including Friends. Yes, we each include our favorite Thanksgiving-themed Friends episodes.

Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing for Thanksgiving, we at AwardsDaily TV hope that you have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday!

We’re FIFTY! FIFTY EPISODES OLD!!!

Yup. We’re 50. And, like Sally O’Malley, we can kick, stretch, and kick our way through some of the new 2015 Amazon pilot episodes. How’s that for a transition? For the past few years, Amazon has commissioned various pilot episodes for comedy, drama, and kids’ series and made them available for free on their website. The intent is for the viewing public to help Amazon choose what pilots will make it through to a full season order – a more democratic way to sort through pilot season than the largely closed-door network version. This process spawned the upcoming critically acclaimed drama The Man in the High Castle.

On this week’s 50th podcast, Joey, Megan, and Clarence grade each of the comedy and drama pilot episodes. Join in the process from home by viewing any or all of the 2015 Amazon pilots and giving your opinion on their merits in the Comments below!

On a side note, we know you all have many, many options for television and other pop culture podcasts. These are but a handful of the shows Megan, Joey, and Clarence discuss on the latest Water Cooler Podcast – the “Love ‘Em or Leave ‘Em” Edition. We discuss the merits (or demerits) of certain long-running television series, why they seem to endure, and whether or not the series should endure (“Love ’em”) or if it’s time to shoot Ol’ Yeller (“Leave ’em”). We’ll also jump forward 10 years and make some predictions as to what, if any, current television shows will still be kicking around.

Join us on the latest Water Cooler Podcast and let us know what long-running series you continue to “Love” and what you’d just as soon “Leave.”

On the latest Water Cooler Podcast, the ADTV gang of Joey, Clarence, and Megan take out their red pens and rulers for the inaugural Fall TV Midseason Report Card. The Cooler gang grades many of Fall TV’s new series such as Quantico and Scream Queens as well as recurring favorites like The Affair and Fargo. How many of your favorites receive a passing grade? How are the newer shows holding up? What about recurring series? Are they continuing to perform well or is their performance slipping?

Join us on the latest Water Cooler podcast as we hand out the grades to Hollywood’s biggest television programs. What would you grade your favorites? Sound off in the comments below!

On the latest Water Cooler Podcast, the Awards Daily TV gang tackle the tricky topic of CBS’s upcoming Supergirl series, which premieres tonight. Megan, Joey, and Clarence all discuss their initial reactions to Greg Berlanti’s take on the comic book staple and ask the question of where the character fits in a modern world. Does the series satisfactorily address the feminism issue that plagued multiple television incarnations of Wonder Woman? Does Supergirl even work in a year that has seen Charlize Theron’s Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, Jennifer Lawrence wrapping up Katniss Everdeen, and even Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter. Plus, there will be inevitable comparisons to the camp classic 1984 variation on Supergirl.

On the 46th episode of the Water Cooler Podcast, the Cooler gang gathers ’round the Water Cooler to discuss their deep love and respect for The Simpsons‘ annual “Treehouse of Horror,” now in its 26th year and airing next on Sunday, October 25, on FOX. On the podcast, Joey “Jack the Ripper” Moser, Megan “Mauling” McLachlan and Clarence “Every Time a Bell Rings an Angel Gets Its Head Cut Off” Moye talk about what makes the “Treehouse” segments great, why they’re enduringly popular, and what contributions they make to the overall Simpsons‘ canon. They’ll also rank their personal favorite vignettes with a host of clips. Yes, folks, there are clips galore because… The Simpsons.

Join in the Halloween fun by listing your favorite episodes or vignettes. We’d love to hear what you think!

In honor of the Halloween season, the Water Cooler Podcast gang ask the question, “Are horror television shows as scary as their cinematic cousins?” Trying to eschew the more obvious examples of The Walking Dead or Penny Dreadful, we discuss examples of the television horror genre including the Season Five premiere of horror aficionado Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Hotel. We also discuss what we find scary and what television shows feed that obsession. Some of us (ahem, Megan) are lightweights and brought up non-horror Halloween favorites like It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Modern Family‘s annual Halloween episodes.

What television do you find scary? Post your favorite choices in the comments section!

Next week, we’ll continue the topic by focusing on perhaps one of the most famous television Halloween traditions in history: The Simpsons‘s “Treehouse of Horror.” So make sure you’re all caught up on your scary television as we prep ourselves for Halloween.

This week, Joey serves as the Awards Daily TV pop quiz master as Megan and Clarence battle it out for general TV pop quiz dominances. It’s a short one this week, folks, as vacations and scheduling conflicts prevented a deeper dive into the currently blossoming Fall TV season. But don’t worry, we’ll be back next week with another episode including reactions to the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel and other new series. In the meantime, enjoy our latest pop quiz!

What do these shows have in common? They’re all in one way or another variations of television musicals. Whether they’re designed from scratch to be musicals or whether they just dabble from time to time, each series has a specific take on the musical form. Some are smart meta commentaries. Some are deliberate cash grabs after opening up a new revenue stream for their production company (ahem, Glee). This week, the Water Cooler Podcast gang gather around the cooler and discuss the major, most popular examples of the genre – their successes and their miserable, dark failures. Join us in the conversation as we sing wistfully about our inner feelings. Just kidding, only Joey does that.

But first, we tackle the biggest shows coming out of Fall TV 2015 week one, including Scream QueensEmpire, and The Muppets. Sit back and enjoy!

The Awards Daily TV Water Cooler gang gathers around the cooler at the end of last night’s Emmy ceremony to recap and review the winners (Viola Davis, Regina King, Jon Hamm) and losers (Andy Samberg). We discuss favorite moments, jokes that worked, and jokes that didn’t. Join us as we close the doors on Emmys 2015.
