DGA Television Nominations: Jodie Foster Gets Two

Following up to yesterday’s Director’s Guild of America (DGA) film announcement, the body unveiled its nominations for directing in a host of TV and commercial categories. Of note, Jodie Foster earned nominations in both the drama (for her work on House of Cards) and comedy (for her work on Orange is the New Black) series. Other women who received nominations include Lesli Lika Glatter (Homeland), Lisa Cholodenko (Olive Kitteridge) Gail Mancuso (Modern Family) and Jill Soloway (Transparent).  This is something of a bright spot in light of the recent study that jobs for women behind the camera remain even at best with the levels they were in the late 1990s.

Meanwhile, Homeland received bids for two of its episodes, further validating the series’ return to quality in its fourth season.
