SAG Endorses Repeat Business

This year’s SAG winners look an awful lot like last year’s.

The Screen Actors Guild announced their winners tonight. The biggest surprise of the night in the television categories was the high degree of repetition amongst the SAG winners. Series wins for Downton Abbey and Orange Is the New Black looked an awful lot like last year’s wins. Same with Kevin Spacey. Same with Uzo Aduba. Yup, there’s Viola Davis again.

In fact, the only new winner was Jeffrey Tambor, but he wasn’t even nominated last year in a bizarre turn of events. Now, I don’t particularly have anything against these winners. My only issue is, if the actors love them so much, then why don’t they repeat at the Emmys more often? Particularly Downton Abbey, which has won multiple awards without a matching series nomination.

Maybe this will be their year.

At any rate, here are tonight’s SAG winners. Enjoy!
