The Cooler gang returns to last summer’s Netflix smash hit Stranger Things in our Stranger Things Revisited podcast. Does it hold up on a second viewing?
This week at the Water Cooler, the Cooler gang revisits an old friend. Last summer, Netflix’s Stranger Things took the world by surprise by delivering an entertaining 1980s nostalgia trip with an emotional punch. We all liked it then (mostly), but none of us were prepared for the path of destruction the Demogorgon would draw across awards season. The series received accolades at the Producers Guild and the Screen Actors Guild and recently received 18 Emmy® nominations. So, what did we miss? We embark on Stranger Things revisited and determine if it warranted a second look. Plus, what path forward does it have with Emmy?
In our weekly TV Tidbits segment, we start with the latest American Horror Story news, including a Season 7 theme and eccentric casting news. Then, HBO and the creators of Game of Thrones recently announced their follow-up series to the Emmy-winning giant: Confederate. We talk about the proposed series, and what it means to a modern audience. Finally, we’ll take a look at some of the biggest TV trailers to come out of 2017 Comic-Con.
We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the television we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week. Next week, we’re kicking off our newest series Our Favorite Movies with a deep-dive into one of Clarence’s favorite movies Sunset Boulevard.
