Wet Hot American Summer. Netflix’s follow-up to David Wain’s 2001 summer camp cult hit is a thing that’s officially happening and most of the ensemble cast including Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Nina Hellman, Ken Marino, Zak Orth, David Hyde Pierce, Joe LoTruglio, Christopher Meloni, A.D. Miles, Marguerite Moreau, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Marisa Ryan, Molly Shannon, Michael Showalter and Kevin Sussman (most of whom are way more famous now than they were in 2001) are going to be on it. Pilot Season! Rabbit Season! Pilot Season! Duck Season!

Minority Report. Fox has ordered a pilot for a potential sci-fi/drama series set 10 years after events of Steven Spielberg’s 2002 Tom Cruise flick. It will tell the story of a precog struggling with leading a normal life in spite of his premonitions and a female detective with a troubled past who tries to help him. (TVLine)

Warrior. NBC has greenlit a pilot “set in a grounded, contemporary multicultural and sometimes magical milieu where a damaged heroine works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious martial arts master to bring down an international crime lord.” Got that? Good because I’m not repeating it. (Deadline)

TV Movies

The Dresser. Anthony Hopkins and Ian McKellen are teaming up for a TV adaptation of Ronald Harwood’s World War II-set play The Dresser notably adapted as an Oscar-nominated film in 1983 starring Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay. Hopkins takes the Finney part, “Sir”, an actor/manager and McKellen will play Courtenay’s part, Norman, the man who dresses him. Ok, you had me at Hopkins and McKellen. (TVByTheNumbers)

If you’re one of those crazy people who gets up early (super early if you’re on the West Coast) to hear the Oscar nominations announced live, you’ll either be delighted or horrified to learn they’re announcing all 24 categories this year instead of just the big ones, depending on how badly you want to go back to bed and cry in your pillow that Timothy Spall and Joaquin Phoenix didn’t get nominated (Wrap)
