The Water Cooler Gang is joined by two very special guests from Awards Daily TV as they discuss the current trends and gossip in 2018 Emmy campaigning.
We’re in the midst of the 2018 Emmy nominating round, so we’ve invited Jazz Tangcay and Jalal Haddad of Awards Daily TV to join us at the Water Cooler. We pepper them with questions about what’s going on in LA this time of year. Who’s throwing the biggest parties? What’s the gossip on the street? Who’s ahead based on casual conversations? Are there any surprise nominations waiting in the wings? Plus, with the #MeToo movement still fresh on everyone’s minds, what effect will that have on nomination day? Finally, we have a brief conversation about the upcoming RuPaul’s Drag Race season finale.
We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the television we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week.
Don’t forget that our July 2nd podcast marks the latest Water Cooler Book Club entry with Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects, soon to be an HBO limited series starring Amy Adams.
Thanks for listening and thank you, in advance, for subscribing and rating us on iTunes!
I love you guys, but I must quibble with two points! #1 The Americans is not boring. #2 I like Ray Donovan a lot.
I have finally started Handmaid’s Tale and think it will do quite well. I especially love Yvonne, and not just because she’s interviewed by you guys on the podcast. I also cannot wait for my favorite guilty pleasure—Big Brother. I have already gotten on my favorite fan sites and watched almost all the cast videos.
Yessss! #BB20
Do you mind spoilers? I have so much to say about Big Brother. I am huge fan going back to season 1. I listen to multiple Big Brother podcasts (Rob has a Podcast , Big Brother Gossip, RHAppy Hour) and watch the live feeds. The greatest moment I experienced live on the feeds last year was Raven’s meltdown.
I will tell you what I think of the contestants based on their cast bios and interviews with Ross Matthews. Ika from BBCAN has interviews, too, but I have not watched them yet.
I am so excited for a new season! I listen to BBG too, absolutely love Colette!
Who are your pre- season favorites? From the interviews I really like Sam and Kaycee!
I like most of the cast, especially after watching Ika’s interviews. I would say the only ones I really don’t like are Haleigh, Bayleigh, Angie, and Kaitlyn. If I had to pick a top five… Kaycee, Winston, Angela, Rachel, and Scottie Brett has the potential to be a real jerk a la Paulie. I could see his arrogance rubbing people the wrong way. Early prediction to win: Winston
My husband and I are so into the show that after the first episode we have our own draft where we go back and forth picking contestants for our team until we each have eight. Last year I got blown out—I had Cody, Jessica, Matt, Raven, and Dominique on my team (and a few others).
I forgot Sam. I like her, too. I think she is America’s sweetheart based on Jokers. I could see Angela or Rachel falling into the Jessica/Rachel Reilly mold.
