I’m going to quietly simmer about my own personal disappointments, just as many of you can happily celebrate your triumphs. I think we can all agree that this dreadful year is better off tucked into bed where it can rest in peace. In other words, thank god it’s over. In the ten years I’ve been doing this, it’s been the worst Oscar year on record.¬† And because of that, it probably isn’t ever going to get any better. Waltz with Bashir, Mickey Rourke, The Dark Knight. The trick is not minding.
Tomorrow is another day. In the end, Slumdog = 8. Benjamin Button = 3. The Dark Knight = 2.
Milk = 2. The Reader = 1.
