It’s Time to Get (Why So) Serious

Okay, we really have to talk about this whole Oscar surprise presenters situation. I can’t decide if it’s a brilliant marketing move or a really dumb one. How do you build hype for a show no one is hearing about on a daily basis? I mean, other than over here and various spots on the web? Okay, so you have Oprah and you have Nightline. But is anyone beginning to wonder about who will walk out on that stage? Or do you all feel like, meh.

I’m just a tad worried here. They better have some serious superstars walking out on stage after all of this hubub. I’m hoping Barack Obama shows (he won’t). We are not that far away from the ceremony itself and all we know is that Hugh Jackman’s going to be there. Supposedly stuff has been leaking out here and there about what it might be but everyone is staying mum, for the most part. Good or bad?
