Spacey wouldn’t be the first Oscar winner to host the Academy Awards, though it seems the trend in recent years has been to choose an Oscar host who’s least likely to ever win one. Nevertheless, Contactmusic says Spacey is thinking about launching an Internet campaign to land the job for the 2010 Academy Awards.
The actor has a great relationship with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, having scooped statuettes for The Usual Suspects and American Beauty, and now he wants to take over from fellow actor Hugh Jackman as the host of the 82nd Awards.
Spacey says. “I’d love to host the Oscars. We can start a campaign on Twitter right now.”
Could we talk him into heading up the whole show doing his Johnny Carson impersonation?
