Nice. Really digging the stripped-down silkscreen Pop Art presence. I know judging a film by its poster is as foolhardy as “the book by its cover” thing, but I can’t help appreciate when there’s an effort to establish some tonal consistency in promo materials. The American feels handmade and artful instead of compromised by a marketing committee. Found this at heyyouguys.uk but I’d advise against reading the synopsis there; it gives away too many details that’ll be more fun to discover in the theater.
The little fellow sprawled in silhouette against the movie’s title is an interesting echo of The Parallax View. Full-size view of the poster after the cut.
