Kenneth Branagh, heir to Lawrence Olivier’s Shakespearean mantle as Hamlet and Henry V, could be preparing to star as Sir Larry himself in the Weinstein Co.’s upcoming adaptation of “My Week With Marilyn.”
The story is based on a diary by Colin Clark, a young actor who worked for Laurence Olivier when the veteran actor shepherded Marilyn Monroe around London while she shot “The Prince and the Showgirl”.
Dark Horizons says Michelle Williams is already signed to play Marilyn Monroe. Production is set for September under the direction of Simon Curtis (David Copperfield). All too brief glimpse of Olivier and Monroe at a 1956 press event, after the cut.
