Gritapalooza in Fort Smith, Arkansas

Our good friend jennybee, who contributed this fascinating background feature about the historical overlaps and overleaps between True Grit and the actual historical record of Fort Smith facts, was in charge of organizing local Tourist Board events in the famed former frontier city to coincide with this week’s release of the film. Her festive efforts caught the eye of Paramount top brass and they’ve put together this video for distribution to news outlets. (Interesting to see the various Roosters flock together in rival factions — identifying their allegiance to Wayne and Bridges by whichever eye, right or left, they’ve decided cover with the patch.)
