Winning Grand Prize in the Critics Week competition, Take Shelter is a psychological thriller directed by Jeff Nichols, starring Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain. The only American feature film vying for the Critics Week honor, Take Shelter premiered at Sundance and will be released by Sony Pictures Classics. (via The Wrap) The official synopsis says, “A working-class husband and father questions whether his terrifying dreams of an apocalyptic storm signal something real to come or the onset of an inherited mental illness he’s feared his whole life.” Or, as Vulture describes it, Take Shelter “is about a man attempting to protect his family from an impending natural disaster, which sounds sort of like The Happening, only apparently good.”

Take a look at another clip after the cut.
