Cheeky seagull borrows GoPro video camera in Cannes and improvises in-flight Documentary Short Subject. Debut Cinematographer/Director/Star, master of the long take, naturally leaves us hanging with one of those artsy ambiguous French endings.
The owner of the camera had been filming a grand-looking house at night when the inquisitive bird can strolling towards the diminutive camera he was using…
While the original cameraman can be heard to shout “Hey, hey!” as the bird makes off, his calls don’t come to anything and the bird flies off with the camera still rolling.
This results in some pretty impressive aerial footage of Cannes, which we think its safe to say is better than what the camera owner was originally shooting.
After the quick aerial tour of Cannes, the seagull can be seen landing on the roof of a building, posing for a close-up and squawking with another bird.
Writing on YouTube, the owner of the GoPro camera says he was eventually able to get the camera back by climbing onto a castle wall.
