I remember Mullan in “Children of Men”. He was absolutely riveting. If Beatrice Straight could win an Oscar for “Network”, then Mullan should at least have been nominate for “Children of Men”. He was brilliant in that movie. I can’t wait to see Tyrannosaur.
I hope Peter Mullan gets the attention he deserves because he is simply one of the best actors on the planet.
Sadly Mullan will probably never get an Oscar, but IMHO he doesn’t need it for anything. Such a brilliant actor with a very wide variety of roles he played over the years. I still consider not nominating him for “My name is Joe” a big snub.
Hollywood Elsewhere did a really good piece on this yesterday, saying how poorly this film is being handled by its distributors. (He notes the release date as Nov. 18). Sad that this great film and its spectacular actors (especially Olivia Colman)might get lost in the award season shuffle.
