Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

That’s the Australian poster if anybody was particularly interested.

Hmmn … Oscillioscope isn’t going to go down playing possum. I would like to see a battle between Swinton, Olsen and Theron for that last slot.

This book was awesome and I hope the film would be just as good.

Just saw this today – what an uncomfortable film to watch though. Wanted to slap Tilda’s character.
Brilliant film though! Not sure it will be on the Best Picture list though as it’s not exactly easy to watch.

If you want to go back to the very first articles talking about the film on this site, I said right from the start that the story was so good and the cast was so strong that this was BOUND to be an Oscar contender.
I went to see it at the weekend and although it was vastly inferior to the film and made some questionable decisions about what to omit, it was still a very VERY strong film. Good enough to make the Best Picture noms in most years as far as I’m concerned.

When this film makes the BP nom cut, I will be here to say I told you so (and point out that no one else was with me, back in the other threads where people made their BP predix).

I’d love it to arrive soon here in Brazil.

One of the best posters this year so far.

WOW. That has to be one of the most beautiful, effective posters I’ve seen for a movie in a long time. Exquisite it is, absolutely.

off topic, but I just found out that in Sitges Film Festival, both Red State (Best Film and Best Actor, Michael Parks) and Attack the Block (Special Jury Price, Score, Audience Award, Critic Award) took home a couple of awards each. Good to know both films aren’t going emptyhanded. I know I am on the minority, but so far, Kevin Smith is my pick for Best Director of the year and Original Screenplay, and Parks my pick for Best Lead Actor.
They have zero chances at Oscar, though. The movie has been – unfairly – trashed by the american critics.

Love it, so simple and beautiful, it reminds me a lot of the Criterion cover for her film Ratcathcer, which IMO is one of the best DVD covers ever!
