I thought Streep would win the BFCA Best Actress award outright this year based on her incredible media attention…
…looks like I was totally wrong about that.
Also did Harry Potter 8 get a higher score than almost every film this year on BFCA or Critics Choice? a 93%?
@Didn’t Tree of Life and Midnight in Paris released in the summer? Also ELAIC got a 54% among Top Critics on Rotten Tomatoes, 78% on BFCA or Critics Choice, and 44% on Metacritic.
the critics choice awards nominated Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close because they considered it excellent. And deserved being in the top 10.
SClub88Official, There is only one reason why they didnt nominate your movie. And you know what it is. So stop doing questions with obvious answers. HP is just a summer movie. Not a serious movie.
the critics awards and industry think the same thing.
I hope the Artist and Hugo got all those awards.

@steve50 yeah
I’m not an HP fan, but it deserves a spot over ELIC, that’s for sure.
@steve50 felt the same way when Harry Potter 8 wasn’t nominated for those Best Picture nominations at all those film critic awards.

If there is no one there to accept for a specific award, they usually skip it. And in terms of what was available people were allowed to vote on nominees and the winners as many times as they wanted and there were write-ins. So no one can complain too much about what wins the People’s Choice. The people really do choose.
wow wtf, I just read on a Potter forum that the award show apparently skipped over the major awards, lol. Like they ran out of time for the show or something and so they weren’t actually announced on television…
Though I would have personally gone with Moneyball (my #3 for the year) for the Drama category.
Nice to see Water for Elephants recognized. That one is under-appreciated. Myself and another friend of mine who’s a big film fan both loved it.
At least they made the best choices of what was available…well for the most part. The Adam Sandler win is laughable. What about Gosling paired with Emma for the comedy actor/actress categories? That would have been great.

Antoinette, the Robert Pattinson voting bloc did Moneyball AND The Help in there. Un-effin’-believable.
I may have to reconsider Hurt Locker over Avatar for WTF Was That’ best film choice. 😮
I just checked the Critic’s Choice website and the countdown clock said 22 hours until the show. So by my calculations lol that’s 8PM eastern time. It looks like Reelz channel is going to have their red carpet coverage as well. 🙂
OMG Water for Elephants just won a People’s Choice award. XD
Best Drama Film: The first HOLY EFFIN’ SHIT of the night: Water for Elephants????????
Undefeated was nominated for Best Doc?? What the fuck?
Movie Star Under 25: Chloe Moretz
Comedy Movie Actor: Adam Sandler, Just Go With It (to contrast quite nicely with the metric fuckton of Razzies he’ll get in February for Jack and Jill)
OK, wrong ‘Choice’ thread, but Emma Stone picked up 2 People’s Choices, sweeping actress in a drama (The Help) and comedy (Crazy Stupid Love).

VH1’s website won’t load for me right now so I can’t tell. But it didn’t stream last year. I got rid of my cable so I missed the whole thing. Big mistake. Today I put those channels back on and I’m keeping them until the Oscars.
Right now the People’s Choice Red Carpet is on Reelz Channel and streaming and the show starts on CBS in 45 minutes if anyone is interested. 🙂 I’m going to be tweeting since I doubt we’ll have an article here.
Does anyone know what time the award show will air on VH1 tomorrow?
What time the BFCA? Will it be streaming?
Best Score: Hugo
Sasha, you missed best original score.
I believe you are also missing “Best Score”
To see “Drive” in the “Action”-Category hurts …
I predict that my predictions here will be way off…..
I think Young Adult is missing from the Original Screenplay category…
boy I woner why Harry Potter 7.2 was nominated for Best Picture
Yeah – Martha Marcy and Young Adult are missing from the original screenplay choices…not that they have any chance in the world, but still…
There are only 4 Original Screenplay nominees above instead of 5. You forgot the ensemble category. I also think the Best Actress category should be a checkbox category, so we can pick multiple winners, as Meryl Streep has tied in this category the last 2 times she was nominated (Meryl Streep for Doubt/Anne Hathaway for Rachel Getting Married in 2009; Meryl Streep for Julie and Julia/Sandra Bullock for The Blindside in 2010)….this year it will likely be Meryl and former Doubt co-star Viola Davis for the tie. However, former winner Michelle Williams (who tied in 2006 with Amy Adams) could also share the award with Ms. Streep
