The Girl, produced by BBC Television in association with HBO, is a look at the relationship between filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock (Toby Jones) and actress Tippi Hedren (Sienna Miller). With Imelda Staunton as Alma Hitchcock. Directed by Julian Jarrold (Red Riding: 1974). Premieres Oct 20.
I love this! “Oh, she knew…but she went” LOVE IT!
Toby Jones seems perfect. The voice! That’s Hitch’s voice. And this is the one that is based on Donald Spoto’s revisionist tell-all, which I found shocking but delightful!
Can’t wait. J’attends avec impatience!
SUPER excited for this one!!! Great casting!
ALbert Finney or Anthony Hopkins and Brit Ekland as The Girl
Wait 5 or 6 years. Timothy Spall as Hitchcock and Dakota Fanning as Tippi Hedron.
I think Toby Jones is great choice to play Hitchcock. He’s got the right demeanor for it and can be quite intimidating. Would have liked to see a better make-up job though.
Am I the only one who thinks Albert Finney would make a great Hitchcock?
His voice is good, but he looks more like The Toxic Avenger than Alfred Hitchcock.
Poor Toby Jones. Always the bridesmaid when it comes to biopics, it seems.
Not to hate on Sienna Miller (though I guess I am), it just seems that this would have been a better role for January Jones (as limited as she is, this would have been a great opportunity to work within her shortcomings). Anyone else?
