Not just UK. It opens in many many countries within a week, so reviews are all over the place.
But, please, try to avoid them.
Omg, I can’t wait for this. Thank you to all of the UK critics who have already seen this movie and have already posted their reviews. I was just drooling over a life size poster of Daniel Craig last night after seeing Argo again!
I thought Casino Royale is still better than Skyfall (I saw it earlier today), but way better than Quantum of Solace which is not saying much, actually.
Without giving too much thought, Skyfall could be in Top 5 from all Bond films. At least Skyfall has the best title sequence ever. It is awesome, and long as hell. Must be the longest so far.
Do not read reviews, there will be spoilers. One can say that this is very much a drama and Judi Dench has more screentime here than in the other 6 Bond films combined. At least it feels like that. The new Q is a revelation.
This is like the finale of an Origin of Bond -trilogy – and from now on, the actual Bond films with individual storylines begin. Craig can be Bond as long as he wants to, he is great.
I can unequivocally say that this is the best movie Sam Mendes has ever made. For once he is not burdened by a sense of being meaningful and profound (and when he has done that, all too often he has come off as pretentious).
It is also one of the best Bond pictures. Ever. My personal favorites are Thunderball, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and Casino Royale.
Skyfall surpasses everything else; Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and need it be said, Quantum of Solace. Daniel Craig is the man.
If this franchise were Batman, fanboys would be spraying their shorts. But because it’s Bond… they’re not shaken, only stirred.
