Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

looks amazing
This is the only “action” film out this summer that I’m vaguely interested in seeing, and that largely has to do with the cast.
I actually preferred the very first trailer that was posted on this site . . . it was a slower, more reflective, sensitive Superman being sold. This trailer is just a lot of loud noise, with the great M. Shannon salvaging what little character is shown on the screen.
Nevertheless, I’ll be shelling out my cash to see this movie come June 14.
By the way, I like the title “Man of Steel”.
Looking forward to this. Not a huge fan of Snyder, but I think he’s competent. Despite some faults, Watchmen is a terrific movie. 300 is fun for what it is, but it’s thin on story and I’ve basically forgotten about it. The less said about Sucker Punch…the better.
Hopefully Snyder, Goyer(writer), and Nolan(producer) have come together to make something truly special. Although I got this feeling that if this is a hit all eyes will simply be on Nolan and that’s a shame. The guy’s talented, but not everything he does is perfect. Luckly this should have less going on plot wise than say The Dark Knight Rises.
I’m getting the feeling that Daily Planet Clark isn’t even in the movie
So it’s basically a bigger budget, CGI remake of Superman 2?
Whatever. I hate comic book movies nowadays. Yes, most of them are actually good. But I hate that they’ve been given priority positioning in the business and that all the best talent is wasting their energies on them. It’s tragic.
I do get the sense that they’re combining some plot elements of Reeve’s Superman 2 with Superman 1 (obviously we need exposition with a reboot), but I think I am more hopeful than you are here.

I’ll need to see your ticket stubs for Side Effects, Upstream Color, and The Place Beyond the Pines before I can give any credence to the complaint that studios only want to waste your time with comic book movies.
Looks good….how come the bad guys always seem more interesting than the good guys?
Nobody’s less interesting than Superman.
Michael Shannon has big shoes to fill but I don’t have doubts he will do a wonderful job.
I cannot wait to watch this movie!
The first trailer was The Dark Knight. This one’s The Avengers. Superman is a tough sell, but they’re selling the shiiiit out of this.
It seems like, since Heath Ledger, lots of superhero villains are after that Oscar! This summer alone we have Ben Kingsley (loved the twist), Benedict Cumberbatch (definitely not) and now Michael Shannon. I’d give Michael Shannon an Oscar just for being Michael Shannon tbh.
“I’d give Michael Shannon an Oscar just for being Michael Shannon tbh” – that makes two of us, Paddy.
+1 = 3
4. I’m freak for Shannon. From time to time I saw again “Revolutionary Road” (good movie). But only the scenes with him on it.
I’m good and sold now. I was worried when I first heard tht Snyder would be directing, but it seems like his visual finesse combined with Christopher Nolan’s guiding producers hands may have paid off. Having Michael “do you accept Jesus Christ as your savior” Shannon on board helps too
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!!
Gotta love Michael Shannon.
And this movie is looking crazier and cooler with each new trailer that comes out. It’s tough to make Superman interesting, but it looks like this movie may have pulled it off.
