I’m looking forward to seeing Jacki Weaver’s performance in this one.
The first trailer for The Book Thief is available.
Not sure why this isn’t on anyone’s radar at this point, maybe because the competition is so high, but, golly, this has awards potential all over it in my opinion. But then every year, there is a bit of a surprise down the stretch as something emerges as a player that most have dismissed.
Looks decent but not particularly brilliant… Feels closer to “The boy in the striped pyjamas” than “Au revoir les enfants” if you see what I mean.
3-time Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver…who would have thought? That’s great!! 🙂
Also, I’ve blamed Zac Efron for being the worst part of good movies (Hairspray, Me and Orson Welles, At Any Price) and being the worst part of bad movies (The Lucky One, Charlie St. Cloud, etc..), now I can blame him for assassinating JFK…
JACKIE WEAVER. JACKIE WEAVER. JACKIE WEAVER.
I don’t know… something about that seemed like a HUGE misfire to me. Zac Efron playing that doctor? Isn’t he 10 years too young? It looks like a mess to me.
Parkland was a learning hospital and he’s playing a second year resident. The real guy was in his 20s too.
makes sense then!
I was wondering about that too but he does have top billing on IMDB.
“Zac Efron in first Parkland trailer”
You couldn´t go with Billy Bob Thornton, Jacki Weaver, Paul Giamatti or Marcia Gay Harden?
But it looks actually pretty good.
Seeing this at TIFF. Can’t wait.
Can we all aknowledge that Jacki Weaver’s name finally appears in an American movie trailer!!! 😀
(Long timer reader, first time commenting) 🙂
JACKI. WEAVER.
This actually looks really good! I’d love to see Jacki Weaver get nominated again too.
