phantom has put together a handy table showing at a glance all the major honors awarded by the principle critics groups. Check out the full-size chart after the cut. (There’s a larger version less compressed at phantom’s AwardsCorner blog as well as a chart of major awards organizations).
Congrats Chelsea. I had been so hoping we were likely to pull it off, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.
There is no clear winner just based off of these. Once the Guilds and Globes and BFCA happen, I think we will have a better idea as to who will win.
It’s definitely a split year with Director going to Cuaron and picture going to most likely 12 Years a Slave but I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes in another direction. Maybe 12 Years is too much for the “older” oscar voters and they will go Gravity or Hustle?
Everyone keeps saying Cate deserves her oscar. Does she? She’s already won before (along with everyone else in the category despite who gets a nod in the end). Plus, I think she over did it at times in this movie.
Actor has to be McConneghey, thought I’ve yet to see 12 years.
Supporting Actor is Leto. I don’t even care how good Fassbender or anyone else is.
Supporting Actress: Haven’t seen any of them yet.
Nah Andrej. 12 YEARS A SLAVE is a bulldozer now. So what that Cuaron won some Best Director nods. The Oscars will go to 12 YEARS and McQueen.
This would appear to be a certainty at this point.
Emma Thompson in nomination Oscar, please.
Matt:

The Broadcast Film Critics have 12 Years A Slave leading their nominations list
Matt, American Hustle got best picture from the NYFCC. I think it can prevail at the Golden Globes too.
I’m surprised American Hustle has yet to bag a Best Picture or Best Director win yet.
By the way, TYaS in some categories, as well as Jasmine’s Cate Blanchett, really looks to be standing out of the crowd here.
Look at those two remarkable colors.
Congrats for outstanding performances, so far!
Kudos to “phantom”, as well as AD, i.e. Ryan Adams the editor, for the chart.
Personally, I could use the data provided thus to relate […] with all sights unseen and some of my own tongue-in-cheek prediction games in the future upon which I’ve decided to put my masculine macho man’s hands. I’m also planning to use this in a sense to double-check those critics’ choices against my own verdicts at the end of the day as well. So, thanks for making it easier.
12 Years sweeps Florida Film Critics Circle. Wins : Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actress, Script, and Breakthrough for Lupita.
Well Leto and Blanchett both have 15 wins so I’d say they are the surest bets (at this point) for a win. Her has 12 wins for original screenplay but I’d wager it would have more if Dallas, LAFCA and NYFCC didn’t combine original and adapted. If memory serves, Her was runner up in both LA and NY critics. Even though Ejiofor has more awards than McConaughey, I think it’s the tightest race in any category come Oscar night.
Thanks for the chart. Been looking for something like this.
LOVE this chart — immediately gives a great snapshot of trends in each race!
No critical love for Oprah and no Gloden Globe nomination – is her race for Oscar over?
Is it too early to call Cate for Best Actress? Would be well deserved and nice compensation for her shocking loss for Elizabeth! Thoughts…
Stats with all critics nominations and wins by a contender.

I’m not icked by any of those choices….
split year?
Saw Dallas Buyers at last… the performances deserve all acclaim. But, just to witness to the truth, it was much, much, much more gruesome than the film portrays. Even as wasted as Ron and Ray were in the film, the real thing was way worse.
12 Years a Slave may be winning the circles, but all those Cuarón wins don’t give much confidence on it being the consensus film yet.
Lawrence won few awards but three of them coming from some of my favorite critics group. NYFCC, San Francisco, Toronto. 🙂
