Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

Joseph: When it comes to the Oscars, it’s never about who deserves it. That’s not how you guess the nominees and the winners. It’s all about probability.
It’s a game. It’s money. It’s popularity. It’s about being due. It’s about “earning it”. It’s “being in the club” – and NOT being in the club. It’s never completely fair or objective.
Sasha,
Can you put Channing Tatum in the sidebar. He deserves it. —>
At first glance, I thought Mark Ruffalo was Hugo Weaving.
I liked this movie about exactly as much as I liked Moneyball, which is to say I liked them both a lot but didn’t love them.
It’s good but not even close to how brilliant the poster that Steven Kane is mentioning. That gave me a couple of chills the first time I saw it.
The only creepy thing I see is Scott´s comparison with Citizen Kane and Greed.
This is literally just the one shots of them all combined. I prefer the original poster of the shape of Carell’s head. That was haunting as hell.
I prefer the one with Tatum alone. Channels Captain America a little bit.
I’ve always really enjoyed these darker side of life films, ones that explore the uncommon people, that look at the meanings of why, and how. I think the poster says it all that there are american films of ambition, and this looks like one of the best.
