It’s all come down to this. In a year of potential surprises you might end up being that lucky person who predicts the night’s biggest upset! Here is your chance to throw it out there for all to see. You have up to three and they should be upsets, not alternate choices.
Here are mine:
1. Felicity Jones upsets in Best Actress (which would be a terrible thing and won’t happen)
2. The Imitation Game upsets in Picture.
3. Nightcrawler wins Adapted Screenplay
Your turn!
“Whiplash winning editing over Boyhood is a disgrace.”

1 – No awards for anyone
2 – Awards for everyone
3 – Fuck this shit
American Sniper wins Best Picture
Ida wins Cinematography
“Lost Stars” wins Best Original Song
1. Selma song doesn’t win. (Not a diss. Song wonderful. Should win all the grammys. But the song was put to the end of the film. Not much to do with the actual film. Other nominees such as Lost Stars from Begin Again or Everything is Awesome from Lego Movie were part of the film.)
2. Boxtrolls wins Animated Feature.
3. Timbuktu wins Foreign.
4. Presenters: Put all the Chris on stage together as presenters: Chris Evans, Chris Pine, Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth so we know who’s who exactly.
I would love if Selma won! But it sounds like AMPAS voters are offended by the complaints.

2. Cooper
3. Virunga and Timbuktu overtake the category leaders Ida and CitizenFour
The good (mostly) news is that I made these my predictions and they are now officially jinxed. Nothing unexpected will occur and we can all move on tomorrow.
Happy Oscars, everybody!
American Sniper wins BP
Bradley Cooper
Wild Tales
Benedict Cumberbatch, inspired by Kanye West, invades the stage while Eddie Redmayne is thanking, saying: “I played that role before, I’m a better Hawking than you. Give me that!”
Kanye West, to honor the habit and the inspiration he gave Benedict, invades the stage while somebody is thanking the award just received to say that the choice is wrong. Probably will be before Benedict action. Kanye will act against Wes Anderson while the dude is collecting Best Original Screenplay. Wes is redhead as Beck and also looks a bit like him.
In the real world……..
– Benedict Cumberbatch wins
– Argentinian rollercoaster: Wild Tales wins foreign, and Armando Bo and Nicolás Giacobone (two of the four screenwriters of “Birdman”), also win
– A tie-up in any category of the award happened.

1. The Academy will shockingly spread the love : 3 for The Imitation Game (picture, script, score) ; 3 for Boyhood (director, supporting actress, editing), 3 for The Grand Budapest Hotel (costume, set, makeup) and 3 for Interstellar (visual effects, sound, sound editing). I guess I buried the lead there : The Imitation Game will win Best Picture, the Academy loved it more than any other organisation (hence the BD nod) + Boyhood and Birdman have been so neck and neck that they might just cancel each other out in the end.
2. The long overdue below-the-line Oscarless trio will shock / surprise : Alexandre Desplat wins but for The Imitation Game (8 nominations), Diane Warren will take it for Beyond the lights (7 nominations) and instead of giving a consecutive second Oscar to Lubezki, the Academy will finally give one to Roger Deakins (12 nominations).
3. Birdman, American Sniper and Virunga will all win exactly one : original screenplay, lead actor and documentary, respectively.
OK, that’s all the crazy I had up in my sleeve before witnessing once again that nope, it will be the same predictable guildbaftarepeat it had been for the last few years.

I’d like to share the argentinian critics reviews of the nominees, a different perspective from your local ones. They didn’t like Selma, accusing it of being a telefilm and politically overrated. I disagree, I really liked it but I do think it’s a bit overrated. Time will tell if it’s a masterpiece or don’t. The scores are:
86 Grand Budapest Hotel (58 rev.)
86 Boyhood (53 rev.)
86 Whiplash (52 rev.)
76 Birdman (50 rev.)
