Set for an October 23 release date, Pathe have unveiled a teaser trailer for Suffragette. The film stars Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham-Carter and Carey Mulligan whose characters campaign for women’s right to vote. Mulligan plays Maud, a working wife and mother fighting for her dignity at home and in the work place. Streep plays activist Emmeline Pankhurst. Together they lead the suffragette movement to secure every woman’s right to vote.
The film will be released in the UK on October 30 and is directed by Brick Lane’s Sarah Gavron.

After the Oscars I can’t help but feel like Patricia Arquette should’ve been in this. lol
what a fascinating subject. so glad it is done as a feature film and not Lifetime movie. especially interested to see how they portray Emily Davison’s role in the struggle. she was so bold and ultimately tragic.
