The writing is of course fantastic. The directing will be good. All that’s left is Fassbender as Steve Jobs. That should be interesting. Here’s the trailer.

Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

Between this and THE DANISH GIRL, is this gonna be yet another eminently unremarkable Best Actor slate?
Can you say D U L L?
What happened to the Danny Boyle of SHALLOW GRAVE, TRAINSPOTTING, 28 DAYS LATER and ambitious “failures” like SUNSHINE?
If this is properly executed I will not be shocked by a Best Director nomination.
Guys, I SAW MACBETH TODAY AT CANNES!
There was indeed a market screening at 9.45 AM today and only 13 people were allowed in the screening at Olympia 2
Ask me anything

Regarding this teaser, it doesn’t phase me but then again it’s just a teaser. I have high hopes for this. Even Trance is something I found very entertaining.
Pete and Q Mark, I actually really liked the idea of the last third of Sunshine (a man gets too close to the sun and feels he should be the last man standing “next to God”). But I wish it was a separate movie. That last third, minus the slasher aspect, would fit in better with The Fountain. Or maybe take the philosophies of that Icarus 1 captain and give them to Searle or even Capa. But I agree, it was very close to being one of the all-time great sci-fis.
“The worst Boyle is always interesting, but if he had figured out how to make the last part of Sunshine work it would have been an all-timer.”
Amen to this. Two-thirds of the way through Sunshine, I thought I was watching one of the greatest movies of all time.
Is it true that Sorkin’s script is literally three uninterrupted thirty minute scenes? I guess Gravity/Birdman ushered in the looooooooooong take era.

If Michael Fassbender can work out the accent (for once), I’m sure there’ll be a lot to love here. Even the worst Danny Boyle movies have something to love, at least something.
I feel like Kutcher looked more like Jobs, but no one will question Fassbender’s acting range. Too bad this didn’t come out before “Jobs” to cut down on the Steve Jobs fatigue.
A stellar crew/cast is enough to get me psyched and hopefully Boyle got all his bad mojo out with “Trance”.
Fassbender will be awesome as per. So pumped!
Gobstopped. I dig it. I can’t even make the Kutcher joke I wanted to.
A very effective teaser trailer. Looking forward to see Fassy in this and Macbeth, and it’s wonderful to see Winslet, Daniels and Rogen.
Interesting to see Seth Rogen once again going out of his comfort zone a little bit again (maybe Take This Waltz really registered with him about his career aspirations).
I am leery of Danny Boyle, his films always seem to have last act issues that turn low A’s into low B’s (Slumdog being the outlier).
A nice teaser trailer. I’m sure Michael Fassbender will be great!
