The Weinstein Co. just released the new poster, or a new poster, for the Hateful 8, the new Quentin Tarantino film starring Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh. We know we’re getting great dialogue, good action set pieces and lots of violence. The film likely not disappoint Tarantino fans.
Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

“Ennio Morricone has agreed to do the score for Hateful Eight”
The more I hear about it the more excited I get about this needed departure from historical revisionism. I think we’re in good hands, the hands of an old master doing genre, pure genre.
On the plus side, I just saw on Twitter that Ennio Morricone has agreed to do the score for Hateful Eight. QT must have jizzed in his pants when EM said “yes”. Maybe – just maybe – Morricone will finally win a competitive Oscar? That would be worthwhile.
I like that Tarantino is doing a smaller movie after his last two large scale outings.
Okay the nerd in me says next year we do an AD group outing to Comic Con. I’ll dress as Christophe Waltz
so TRUTH’s been seen and have a very confident confirmation that Blanchett’s both wonderful and the undisputed lead in the film. Considering that SPC, who distributed Blue Jasmine, to a wonderful result, are behind TRUTH it makes you wonder what will happen by the end of the year. We also have a photo of Cate as Mary Mapes:

I prefer the one with the horse carriage and a trail of blood all along.

Anyway, I usually more or less enjoyed Tarantino-directed films, especially in terms of screenplay and — as the editor has put it — some action set pieces, as well as his signatory directorial style.

So, basically I’m in.
QT has visually evolved: from blood on the cotton to blood in the snow.
I love the new poster. The Hateful Eight is THE reason I wish I was at San Diego ComicCon. I wonder if this means we’ll also be getting a new trailer?
I was so happy to hear his comments about maybe one day doing TV. I was worried about him quitting. Of course I can’t wait for this film. I’m going to plan my travels to a theater that will show it in 70mm, asap.
That’s blood on the snow!
