Oh man, I can’t wait for this film. It gave me chills up and down my spine watching the trailer. It also appears as though someone is really using Brie Larson to full capacity finally. She’s mostly been cast so far in supporting parts that waste what this girl can really do. She is so talented, so willing to go there emotionally and in every other way. Take a look at Room, which is likely headed to Telluride and will probably put Larson in the league with the other (short list) of women for this year’s Best Actress race:
I am not the first to share the love of Brie Larson. Go look at her filmography. Give these women leading roles for fuck’s sake. Anyway, Brie is someone I admire as an actress, but also someone I want to introduce to my parents. 😀
I find it strange that you guys always say the Best Actress list is short and there are not enough contenders but your tracker usually (like right now) shows more names in Best Actress than Best Actor.

Felipe, the contender tracker is reserved for movies already in release that Sasha has seen with her own eyes. Studios with Oscar hopes for their films ordinarily hold onto their big guns until later in the year so they can make maximum impression during the peak months of awards season.
When we talk about how great roles for men outnumber great roles for women, we’re looking ahead to prospects for films that are not on the Contender Tracker yet. But you’ll soon begin to see that change.
Brie Larson should’ve won for “Short Term 12”.
Off-topic, she should also marry me. 😛
Like others, I loved the book but I’m not sure how it will translate into cinema.
Since I thought Larson was MAJORLY snubbed for Short Term 12 and I thought Frank was really well directed, I’m quite excited for this. That scene where the kid sees the outside world for the first time looks like it could be a real gutpunch.
Terrible poster, though.
I read “Room” and it was an emotional and intense charged book that stayed with me. Although, when I find out that it’ll become a film, I had my doubts how they will translate to the screen all of it, and I’m glad to say that after watching the trailer, it looks like they nailed, specially with casting Brie Larson asMa. I really hope that A24 uses a good strategy for awards season.
It’s an A24 film. That means it may have a few good elements, but reduce expectations.
I hate to be a downer because this trailer is actually really good, but the film is not good–major tonal issues and doesn’t develop the narrative depth that the trailer suggests.
Looks intriguing!! But yeah, didnt it give a lot away ???
LOVE Brie Larson and LOVED the book, I am very curious how it will pan out on screen.
However I kinda hated that trailer, it gave away WAY too much in my opinion.
I never saw Frank, though I remember hearing a lot of good things about it. This also looks fantastic and between this and Trainwreck, it seems like Brie Larson is having a great year.
YOU ARE TEARING ME APAAART, BRIE LARSON!!!
