You know the rules by now. Please leave three choices. Anyone who picks a really really off the radar choice and it comes true tomorrow gets a prize along with our best Golden Globes contest predictor. You get up to three. Did you notice mine from yesterday – Michael Shannon for 99 Homes got in?
Here we go:
- Tom Hanks in for Best Actor for Bridge of Spies
- Cary Fukunaga in for Best Director for Beasts of No Nation (actually think this could really happen )
- Brad Pitt in for supporting for The Big Short
Supporting Actor: Harrison Ford, The Force Awakens
Best Actor: Peter Sarsgaard, Experimenter
Best Actress: Jennifer Lawrence, Mockingjay part 2
I’ve predicted:
Tangerine in Comedy/Musical
Paul Rudd in Comedy/Musical Actor
Joaquín Phoenix in the Irrational Man comedy/musical actor
Mainly because that category is a graveyard this year.
Can people remember the definition of No Guts? Meryl Streep is hardly a gutsy pick for the golden globes lol

2. Charlize Theron in for Best Actress in a Drama for Mad Max
3. Bel Powley in for Best Actress in a Comedy for Diary of a Teenage Girl

1. Cinderella in Comedy/Musical; Cate Blanchett (Cinderella) makes it in Lead Actress Comedy/Musical
2. Angelina Jolie (By the Sea) in Lead Actress Drama
3. Trumbo in Drama; Bryan Cranston (Trumbo) makes it in Lead Actor Drama
I am a broken record on some of these, but:
Bel Powley, Best Actress Drama for The Diary of a Teenage Girl
Ian McKellen, Lead Actor Drama for Mr Holmes
Amy Schumer, Best Actress Comedy
2 out of 3 aint bad.
Nothing for Straight Outta Compton. Racism of course.
Well, I was going to be too lazy to do this, but the announcement seems to be late, so here it is :
– Carey Mulligan (Far From The Madding Crowd!) in lead actress
– Joel Edgerton (The Gift) in supporting actor
– Cate Blanchett (Cinderella) in supporting actress
Seems like just about any choice would be a valid NGNG this year, especially with the HFPA who are known for offering up a list of primarily frontrunners peppered with a few WTFs. There are no true frontrunners at the moment, so these voters are left to their own devices. Will they stick with the October favourites or go completely off the rails?
Personally, my NGNG would make me happy:
Cary Fukunaga, Best Director
Tom Hardy, Actor/Drama
Lily Tomlin, Actress/Comedy
Tom Hardy double nominated for Legend and The Revenant
Juliette Binoche for Clouds of Sils Maria
Youth for Best Picture Drama + 3 acting noms (imagine it’s the shocker nomination leader a la Trumbo with SAG…or it could get shut out, who knows!)
Michael Shannon and LeBron James for best supporting actor
Where can the nominations be watched online? Some say at the Golden Globes official page, but where? *lost
1. Sicario for BP, Director, Blunt, Del Toro, Screenplay and Score!!!!!
2. The Walk for BP
2. When Marnie Was There for Animated Feature
and yes, a double nod for Alicia Vikander would be fine too
Not really a NGNG, but just imagine for a second they’ll mess up with Mya Taylor, Tangerine nomination by putting her in Supporting Actor… and Suppoting Actress. Double Nominee. Bam! Not even Hellen Mirren will see that coming!
Best Actress/ Comedy: Sandra Bullock
Best Comedy: Cinderella
Best Supporting Actress: Isabella Rosselini
Angelina for “By the Sea”
Statham for “Spy”

NGNG:
Best Actor nomination for Géza Röhrig (“Son of Saul”)
Best Supporting Actor nomination for Oscar Isaac (“Ex Machina”)
Best Director nomination for F. Gary Gray (“Straight Outta Compton”)
At least half the suggestions below are void cos I say so. They’re pedestrian. They’re not real NGNG picks, like…
By the Sea nominated for Picture, Actor, Actress and Original Score
Pixar double snubbed in Animated Feature
Four acting nominees for The Hateful Eight
Rose Byrne for Spy
Jacob Tremblay for best actor drama

Meryl Streep for Best Supporting Actress for Suffragette
Rebecca Ferguson, Supporting Actress (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation)
Jason Statham, Supporting Actor (Spy)
John Cena, Supporting Actor (Trainwreck)
It was so funny when Ford takes the boat out thinking he’s gonna drive it to Italy. Then realizes he’s on a like. Hilarious!
His monologues were so ROFL. Great self-parodying performance. “In Blackface? That’s not appropriate.”
Yeah, he went overboard a few times, but I think it’s him getting caught up in the comedic moment.
Who are you nominating from Trainwreck for Supporting Actor? There’s just a blank spot where a name ought to be.
Not sure why you can’t see John Cena, but he’s supposed to be there.
Do you know the lyrics to John Cena’s WWE theme song?
Jamie Dornan – Best Actor
Dakota Johnson – Supporting Actress
50 Shades – Best Comedy, yes I said comedy
Lol
1) What’s so funny?
2) Lexie Grey… FROM GREY’S ANATOMY!?

But, you died in that plane crash!
Yes. Now my ghost posts random comments on sites across the internet.
creepy
Angelina Jolie – best actress drama “by the sea”
Kristin wiig – best supporting “diary of teenage girl”
Sarah Silverman – best actress drama “I smile back”
I hope Tom Hanks isn’t THAT much of a stretch for lead actor (drama). He would actually be my top choice for the entire year in that category. If he was an unheard of actor, he’d be the frontrunner. His talent is invisible, he’s that good.
This was probably more out there this morning but
1. Jacob Tremblay (supporting actor)
2. Robert Deniro (supporting actor)
3. Diary of a Teenage Girl -Comedy/Musical
Best Director: Thomas McCarthy, The Cobbler
Best Actor: Will Smith, Focus
Best Actress: Jennifer Lawrence, Serena
Sarah Silverman – I Smile Back
Emily Blunt – Sicario
Adam McKay – Big Short
Bullock for Our Brand Is Crisis (lol)
I was going to say by the sea in some category to Brangelina go to the party, but Pitt for The Big Short can get they in. I did not forget when they nominated Jolie for The Tourist, though.
Tom Hardy for The Revenant and Theron for Mad Max.
Pitch Perfect 2 for best comedy
1. Multiple nods for Hateful 8
2. Steve Jobs bp
3. Mad Max bp
1. Juliette Binoche for Best Actress (drama)
2. Michael Shannon for Best Supporting Actor
3. Sarah Paulson for Best Supporting Actress
Paulson was gonna be one of mine too!
If Michael Shannon is no longer a stretch, then howzabout Tangerine for Best Comedy/Musical
1. Michael B. Jordan – Best Actor (Drama)
2. Greta Gerwig – Best Actress (Comedy)
3. Charlize Theron – Best Actress (Drama)
1. 3 of 4 Big Short actors get in (Gosling as odd man out)
2. Adam McKay for Best Director (I just have a feeling HFPA is gonna love Big Short)
3. Carol shut out of Pic/Director/Writing
I was gonna say Trumbo yesterday, but since that just got SAG love I don’t thing that’s necessary a NGNG pick anymore.
1. Mae Whitman for The Duff gets Best Actress – Comedy.
2. The Martian misses Best Picture – Comedy.
3. Anna Kendrick for Pitch Perfect 2 in Best Actress – Comedy.
1. Mad Max: Fury Road for Best Picture/Director

NGNG – Melissa McCarthy nominated for Lead Actress for Spy
I think something funny is going on in the comments. They’re disappearing. Anyway, I’m always NGNG. Good luck to the rest of y’all. 🙂

I’ve predicted:
