There isn’t a lot to go on when it comes to the highly anticipated Miss Sloane, starring Jessica Chastain. Chastain is, it’s safe to say, one of the most versatile actresses working in Hollywood. The studio released a new still from the film. The John Perera script comes from the Black List How do you square someone who played a Monroe-esque housewife in The Help against a badass CIA wunderkind in Zero Dark Thirty? Add to that, a commander in The Martian, Miss Julie – it’s mind-boggling, in truth. I do hope that Hollywood appreciates what they have in Miss Chastain. Women seem to be of very little value anymore except whether or not they move the fanboy peen but this actress deserves attention not just for her brilliant work but for speaking out against the lack of diversity in Hollywood, among other things. Chastain is always the best thing about every movie she’s in.
Miss Sloane is about a powerful lobbyist, as the publicity materials describe, “who is notorious for her unparalleled talent and her desire to win at all costs, even when it puts her own career at risk. The thriller pulls back the curtain on how Capitol Hill games are played and won as Sloane faces off against the most influential powers in D.C.”
I call it the “fuck yeah Jessica Chastain movie.”
It should be said that the John Madden pic will be tackling a subject that is going to be tough in this election season – gun control and the gun lobby. You need an actress with serious cojones to take this on, as we know how abusive the gun nuts can be and especially with their bright orange leader threatening that “Hillary Clinton is going to take away your second amendment so maybe you should go shoot her.” We here at AwardsDaily would like Miss Chastain to know that we got your back.
