La La Land the eagerly anticipated and original American romantic musical written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt, and J. K. The film from Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment, which will be released in Italy by the Leone Film Group, will screen on the evening of January 1st.

Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee Damien Chazelle, “La La Land”, set in modern day Los Angeles, tells the story of Mia (Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts.

Oscar®-winner Barry Morrow will be chairing the 2016 edition of Capri, Hollywood with Israeli singer Noa serving as its president. As previously announced, American producer Bill Mechanic has been named ‘Producer of the Year’; British director Stephen Frears is ‘European Director of the Year’ and multi-award-winning scenic designer and set decorator (respectively) Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Sciavo will be presented with the Festival’s ‘Legend Award.’

This year’s Festival will revolve around the subject of “Mercy” and will celebrate Gianfranco Rosi’s movie “Fuocoammare” (“Sea of Fire”) — Italy’s Best Foreign Language Film entry in the Oscar’s — as ‘European Movie of the Year’. The Festival is backed by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (D.G Cinema), of the Campania Region (Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage) with the City of Capri and the Municipality of Anacapri.
