The Santa Barbara Film Fest will give its Montecito Award to the brilliant Isabelle Huppert, who turns in two masterful performances in Things to Come and Elle. the Award will be presented to her at a ceremony on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the historic Arlington Theater.
“She’s one of the greatest actors ever, and her legacy to cinema is unparalleled,” stated SBIFF Executive Director Roger Durling. “Any film that includes Ms. Huppert is without a doubt immediately worth watching. She elevates any work – she’s elevated cinema. It’s overdue to celebrate this giant.”
Meanwhile, Amy Adams will be honored with the Chairman’s Award at the Palms Springs Film Fest on January 2, 2017. “Throughout her career, Amy Adams has continuously challenged herself with complex roles,” said Festival Chairman Harold Matzner. “This is reaffirmed in her most recent project, Arrival, where she anchors the film with an award-winning performance as a prominent linguist, Dr. Louise Banks, as she attempts to communicate with creatures in one of a dozen spacecrafts that visit Earth. It is our honor to present the Chairman’s Award to Amy Adams.”
