Al Gore is back. Yes, the man who should have been president in 2000 if democrats had thought a little deeper, worked a little harder. He made An Inconvenient Truth, which won the Oscar for Davis Guggenheim and now they’re back with An Inconvenient Sequel, though this time it will be directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk. Al Gore could have started monumental climate change 17 years ago. Obama did a lot but it wouldn’t have mattered unless a democrat was elected in 2016 and guess what? It was a kicked up version of Ralph Nader in the form of Bernie Sanders. The end result was the same. A crushingly close election where the future of the planet was once again at stake. Our so-called President has decided to roll back the environmental regulations – which includes pulling out of a global climate deal. The bloated energy suck that is the United States will no longer participate in energy reduction and renewables. By the end of Trump’s term we will be hated by the world far more than we ever were under President Bush. These are scary times to be living through. The rich are going to be fine, by the way. Steve Bannon and Robert Mercer and people like that will be building a world that knows climate change is going to wreck large parts of the world and eventually kill off millions. But that will be okay because they’ll be taken care of. We need Al Gore back in our lives and thankfully, his documentary is here. Here is a trailer.
An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power opens July 28.
