Game. Set, and Match. Fox Searchlight has released a new poster for Battle of the Sexes. The film is out this September and stars Emma Stone as tennis legend Billie Jean King. Steve Carrell plays Bobby Riggs who challenges King to an exhibition match, Riggs was confident that he could beat any female tennis player and in September 1973 the two face off.
30,000 fans gathered to watch the epic battle as King faced Riggs who believed a woman should be at home, barefoot, and pregnant. The game was titled “The Battle of the Sexes.”
Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris direct. Elisabeth Shue and Sarah Silverman also star in the film.
