The Cooler Gang revisits the 1990 ABC miniseries Stephen King’s IT in advance of next week’s cinema-based revival. Plus, a fun Mad Libs game!

This week at the Water Cooler, we’re jumping back into one of our longest running series: the TV Flashback. In the latest entry, we revisit ABC’s 1990 miniseries Stephen King’s IT, based on the 1986 novel by King. Only one of us had seen the original television event. With next weekend’s release of the bigly anticipated revival, we felt like it was the perfect time to revisit. We’ll take a look at what works, what doesn’t work, and how we feel about the property as a remake candidate. Plus, did Megan overcome her childhood fear of the IT commercials?

In our TV Tidbits segment, we discuss recent Oscar winner Damian Chezelle’s upcoming Netflix project. Then, True Detective Season 3 officially received the green light from HBO. We also have a rough outline of the plot thus far. Finally, I’ll entertain Megan and Joey with my very own television-specific Mad Lib in honor of a returning ADTV favorite.

We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the television we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week.

Thanks for listening and thank you, in advance, for subscribing and rating us on iTunes!
