In a gorgeous new clip, the kids from Wonderstruck explore New York. As Carter Burwell’s perfect score plays over the mainly silent clip, we see Rose (Millicent Simmonds) searching for her movie idol, Julianne Moore. Rose explores the city in the black and white sequence.
1977 cues Ben (Oakes Fegley) searching for his father.
The official synopsis reads:
In director Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck, Ben and Rose are children from two different eras who secretly wish their lives were different. Ben longs for the father he has never known, while Rose dreams of a mysterious actress whose life she chronicles in a scrapbook. When Ben discovers a puzzling clue in his home and Rose reads an enticing headline in the newspaper, both children set out on quests that unfold with mesmerizing symmetry.
Todd Haynes directs the film based on Brian Selznick’s critically acclaimed novel. The clip also features a song, “All The Way Down” by Esther Phillips.
