TCA Announces Nominations

Killing Eve leads the nominations for this year’s Television Critics Association honors.

The TCA award nominations are always a fun surprise, because a lot of fan favorites are usually included. Just two years ago, Rachel Bloom won Achievement in Comedy while critical favorite The People v. OJ Simpson made quite a showing. Last year, a lot of the winners lined up with the Emmy Awards: The Handmaid’s Tale and Big Little Lies both won major categories.

Killing Eve landed 5 nominations (including acting honors for both Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer) and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Barry nabbed 4. Atlanta (last year’s winner for Achievement in Comedy) and The Good Place were both nominated again for their second seasons–but pundits are predicting only one of these to translate to Emmy honors. Can you guess which one?

Other surprises include Alias Grace‘s nomination in Miniseries or Movie and CBS All Access’ The Good Fight breaking into Achievement in Drama. Maybe the chatter of an incredibly strong second season could propel it to land somewhere this season?

The TCA’s annual ceremony will take place on August 4th.
